Successful Independent Agency in Mission Valley area of San Diego is seeking a qualified professional to join their team as a Benefits Producer for an established Group Benefits agency. Our client maintains the culture of a small family oriented business while providing a stable work environment. They desire a motivated person with an existing book of business that has a positive attitude that wants an opportunity for long-term employment and to work with an agency that can provide their clients with exceptional tools to administer their benefits programs. This position is responsible for soliciting new business and maintaining your existing book of business. This is a great direct hire opportunity that offers a 60% commission split on new business and 50% split on renewals.
Job Requirements:
Must have Active California Life & Health Agent Licenses
3+ years of experience in benefits insurance industry as a producer in a retail agency setting with an existing book of business that you can bring to another agency
Must have a sales aptitude and want to work in a sales role.
Ideal candidate has a positive attitude with the desire to grow into a leadership role within the agency.
Must be proficient with MS Word & MS Excel.
We need a self-starter who has the ability to take direction & can work independently.
Must have strong communication skills, be able to multi-task & stay organized.

Essential duties and responsibilities
- Foster and manages overall relationship with clients ensuring retention of book of business and high satisfaction;
- Review client RFP’ s;
- Select markets for solicitation;
- Analyzes market proposals for verification of benefits, premiums, and competitiveness;
- Review coverage contracts for accuracy of policy provisions;
- Meets with clients for pre-renewal strategy, proposal delivery and explanation;
- Conducts client open enrollment meetings and answers questions regarding benefit coverage;
- Ensures that client team handles client benefit inquires and manages team to effectively service clients;
- Manages new carrier and plan implementations for book of business;
- Reacts, process, and follows up on new business;
