Job Description
- HOURS: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM
- DURATION: Direct Hire
- WORKPLACE: Hybrid Remote – Remote on Mondays and Fridays
- PAY: Depending on experience, the position can pay $90,000 - $110,000 per year.

Job Duties will include, but are not limited to:
This book of business is $7 mil in premiums with accounts mostly consisting of trucking and transportation accounts. Fleets up to 220 units.
- Build relationships with the sales team, underwriters the agency works with.
- Attends weekly meetings with each sales producer and is contributing insightful ideas to account strategy for new business. Shares and discusses the most up to date marketing summary that documents the strategy and status for each client and is housed in Dropbox to be accessible to all team members.
- Is utilizing and updating NowCerts/Salesforce system daily to track submissions and records, and updates client information for potential and existing renewal business. Updates new business pipeline with any changes
- Manages and reviews 8-12 submission packets per week to ensure accuracy, completion, compliance and readiness for submission to underwriter with minimal oversight from owner and can complete each packet within a 30-45 minute timeframe for a small fleet <5 units. If details are missing, collaborates closely with the sales team in order to collect and submit the most accurate and complete documentation to carriers.
- Once quotes are provided from carriers, efficiently and accurately creates proposals for the sales team to share with clients. Proposals will typically include documentation from the carrier, which could include forms including but not limited to D-1and SL-2 forms, and supplemental applications for automotive, general liability, cargo insurance, etc. Responsible for sending proposals and applications to clients with appropriate signature areas outlined for final signature for the policy to be issued. Is able to complete proposal compilation within 30-45 minute timeline for the sales team.
- Within 6-9 months is:
- Well versed in handling new business account strategy and management by fully and independently managing 20-30+ accounts ranging in status, from review and submission to quotes and proposals, ensuring accuracy, completion, compliance and readiness.
- Is able to advocate for both the business, the client, and the carriers when reviewing submissions from sales team. Catches misses details and coaches the sales team on why information is critical and is persistent with following guidelines and qualifications to maintain a positive relationship with carriers for future opportunities and partnership.
- Has established great rapport with all underwriters and ensures maintaining positive relationships by thoughtfully reviewing submissions striving for 99% accuracy and confident to be closed.
- Fully and independently leading sales team
- Managing renewals by reviewing the client’s existing plan and policy with the owner and determining which clients to send to the insurance market, and the plan for each client 90 days prior to renewal date. Collects updated client and business information, and if marketing to new carriers, reviews pricing, terms and coverage from quotes and if there is a benefit to another carrier, creating a comparison for the client to review.
- Continues to consistently meet and/or exceed new business sales goals in premiums and an 75% renewal rate as existing clients come up for renewal.
- Within 12 months and ongoing:
- Fully and independently established as the go-to person for the sales team for account strategy and is managing the entire account-service process from submission to proposal to renewal.
- Training and mentoring new hires, which could include new sales team member and account manager.
- Is proactively providing account strategy to the sales team for potential and existing clients.
- By 12 months, is consistently meeting and exceeding new business sales goals that vary by month in closings and a 75% renewal rate.
Requirements:
- 3+ years recent experience in the Commercial insurance industry, within an independent agency environment required.
- Must have experience with Fleets.
- Previous underwriting experience, specifically with the trucking insurance space highly preferred.
- Active California Property and Casualty License required.
- Highly skilled with various office equipment, computers and various programs including GSuite, DocuSign, Asana, Slack, Indio, MS Word, and Excel required.
- Familiarity with an insurance management software such as including Nexsure, NowCerts, AMS360 required.
- Prior experience or familiarity with wholesale carriers a plus.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders required.
- Strong organization, critical thinking, problem-solving and attention to detail skills required.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
