Job Description
This role offers growth and will also require travel at some point.
At the Account Manager level, there is not much travel, but as this position grows into a Sr. Account Manager or Account Executive role, more travel will be required.
If you are not open to client visits/travel, this job would not be a good fit.
Client-facing is required!
In this role, and all roles at the agency, they never just email carrier quotes to clients - it’s always a meeting with well-prepared slides and the Account Manager walking them through and explaining. This is done via Zoom or in-person.
Presentation skills and professional demeanor are a must for this position.
Preparing presentations in PowerPoint with attention to detail is also very important for this position.

- HOURS: Full-Time Hours, Monday to Friday; 8:30 am – 5 pm or 9 am – 5:30 pm
- DURATION: Direct Hire
- WORKSITE: Hybrid environment. This means currently in office 3x/week for the first month, 1x/week thereafter.
- Should there be an important team or client meeting, you must be open to coming in office or travelling to the client's office. Travel costs to clients' offices are covered by the agency!
- Must reside within a reasonable driving distance of Torrance
- PAY: $75,000 - $100,000/Year depending on experience

ABOUT THE BOOK
Mid-market accounts, book of 25 accts or so.
Each account will have multiple lines of coverage.
Property, workers' comp, business income are very important.
Book is about 250-300K in revenue.
Mid-Market means packages, not BOPs.
Mainly food-related and hospitality, travel industries.
Job Duties can include, but are not limited to:
- Support the Account Executive on larger accounts as to learn and grow. Also, cover the Account Executive's desk when they are out in the field.
- Relationship management of client.
- Proficient understanding of compliance, renewal & marketing (RFP), reporting & analytics, and able to perform these functions with little guidance from Account Executive and/or Managers.
- Independently, or in partnership with Client Executives or other colleagues, leads client meetings and presentations.
- Special projects as assigned, which may include client presentations, functions, and meetings.
- Acts as a liaison between carriers and vendors and communicates accurate details relating to P&C programs.
- Coordinates with Customer Service team and/or Account Representatives, the ordering and issuing binders, certificates, policies, endorsements, and other items. Verifies accuracy.
- Reviews and verifies policy, audits, calculates premiums, and establish payment method.
- Maintains accurate client and policy data and documents within AMS360 system/IR.
- Develops sales or cross-selling opportunities with current clients.
- Maintains confidentiality of Company and customer information.
- Other job duties as needed and/or requested.
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years working as an Account Manager on Commercial Insurance within an independent agency.
- Experienced with preparing proposals, contract review, marketing, giving presentations, negotiations with underwriting
- Experience with generalized risks and lines of coverage, including General Liability, Workers' Comp, CL Auto, Professional Liability, etc.
- Experience with large risks preferred, minimum of $100,000 in annual premium!
- Proficiency with AMS 360 & Image Right preferred
- Intermediate - Advanced MS Office Suite required
- Current CA P&C License
- This role may require periodic travel to client and carrier meetings, as well as industry events.
