Job Description

Commercial Lines Insurance CSR needed for an Independent Insurance Agency located in East County, San Diego

 
  • HOURS: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm 
  • WORKSITE:  REMOTE work offered if the CSR does not reside within a reasonable driving distance of the office.
    • If the CSR resides in a reasonable driving distance, a hybrid schedule is preferred.
  • DURATION: Temporary (no set end date at this time) 
  • PAY: Depending on experience; $28.00 - $33.00 per hour
  • BENEFITS: Weekly payroll, direct deposit, online time entry, sick leave pay, and upon meeting eligibility: holiday pay, vacation pay and 401K Retirement Plan.

Job duties can include, but are not limited to:
  • Assists the Account Managers to foster the overall relationship with clients, ensuring retention of book of business and high satisfaction.
  • Provide day-to-day service to clients including, but not limited to, certificate issuance, endorsement processing, policy checking, billing inquiries, invoicing, and consultation.
  • Collaborate with the Renewal and Customer Service Department to increase customer satisfaction.
  • Continuously provide clear and professional verbal/written communication with Clients, carriers, and other internal team members.
  • Retain accounts through proactive customer service, expectation setting, and follow-through.
  • Perform special projects and other job duties as requested.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience working as a Commercial CSR 
  • The qualified candidate must hold an active CA Property/Casualty license.
  • AMS-360 experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Must have clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.  Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Physical Demands: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this office job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, sit, stand, walk and use hands. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms; The employee is occasionally required stoop, kneel, & crouch.
 
  • Regular and consistent attendance as defined per Company policy.
  • Work is performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • Ability to use computer keyboard and sit in a stationary position for extended periods as well as the use of office equipment such as fax and copy machines, and telephones.
  • May be required to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must possess effective communication and listening skills such that complicated information can be communicated in a straight-forward manner that the listener can understand, as well as paraphrasing and questioning to gain a complete understanding of the speakers concerns and goals.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, set goals and meet deadlines.
  • Must be a team player that possesses strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have a professional demeanor, be detail oriented, organized, highly ethical and have a positive attitude.
