Job Description
Employee Benefits Sales Rep (Benefit Advisor) needed for an Insurance Agency located in Mission Valley!

- HOURS: Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm
- DURATION: Direct Hire
- WORKPLACE: This is an in-office position; BUT, every other Friday the Sales Rep has the option to work remote. This is not offered in 4th quarter.

- PAY: Depending on experience, $75k - $95k declining base salary, then commission based thereafter. (The specifics of the compensation and commission structures will be addressed during the interview process

Job Duties will include, but are not limited to:
Within the first 30-60 days and ongoing:
- Researches business to business networking groups, knowing the requirements to join and finding the best fit for building connections to access prospective clients.
- Takes a proactive approach to canvassing & developing the pipeline, including cold calls.
- Spends 50% of time networking and finding strong prospects to add to the pipeline and spends time building relationships to bring new business prospects to closure.
Within the first 3-6 months and ongoing:
- Spends 75-80% of time networking and finding strong prospects to follow up with and spends time building relationships to bring new business prospects to closure.
- Conducts sales, service, and solicitation.
- Develops accounts and cross sells available products and services appropriately.
12+ months and ongoing:
- Manages renewal process from start to finish including marketing as needed, financial analysis, pre and post renewal review and conducting open enrollment meetings.
- Is fully integrated and self-sufficient independently managing and building a pipeline of prospects.
- Achieves new business sales goals on an annualized basis.
Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience in the employee benefits industry required.
- Knowledge using CRM’s, carrier portals, benefit administration systems and Microsoft office suite required.
- Highly preferred; brings a robust network/or client base already established.
- Possesses a valid CA insurance agent license (health and life).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to summarize and present information in a clean, concise and accurate format.
- Strong knowledge of employee health insurance carriers, plan design features as well as factors that affect cost and plan design.
