Employee Benefits Account Manager - HYBRID!
Job Description
An Insurance Agency in Pleasanton, CA, is seeking an experienced Employee Benefits Account Manager to join their team! This role primarily involves working with large groups (20–300 lives) and managing books of business ranging from $2.5 M to $3M, depending on experience.
- Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM
- Worksite: Hybrid (4 days in-office, 1 day remote)
- Duration: Direct Hire
- Salary: $80K – $110K (DOE)
- To qualify for $100K+, candidates must have at least 10 years of recent experience as an Employee Benefits Account Manager within an independent agency and a stable job history.

- Prepare and submit new and renewal accounts to insurance carriers.
- Develop proposals, negotiate coverage terms, and secure competitive pricing.
- Manage the new business and renewal process from start to finish.
- Follow up with carriers as needed and set up clients in EPIC.
- Work directly with clients to collect missing information and build strong relationships.
- Plan and conduct open enrollment meetings.
- Active CA Life/Health License.
- EPIC experience is required.
- Minimum five years of recent experience as an Employee Benefits Account Manager in an independent agency.
- Strong knowledge of COBRA and HIPAA regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EPIC.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities
