Job Description
A well-established retail insurance agency located in La Mesa, CA, is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Carrier Liaison to join their team. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work both remotely and from their La Mesa office, providing a dynamic and flexible work environment.
Position Overview:
As the Carrier Liaison, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the agency's relationships with insurance carriers. You will act as the primary point of contact between the agency and its carrier partners, ensuring smooth communication, efficient problem-solving, and the continuous development of strong, mutually beneficial partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers to ensure a collaborative and productive partnership.
- Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for carriers, handling inquiries, addressing concerns, and facilitating clear, effective communication between the agency and carriers.
- Problem Resolution: Act as a liaison to resolve any issues that arise between the agency and carriers, ensuring that both parties' needs are met promptly and effectively.
- Contract Negotiation: Assist in the negotiation of terms, conditions, and contracts with carriers to secure the best possible arrangements for the agency.
- Performance Monitoring: Regularly review carrier performance, including claims handling, underwriting, and service delivery, and provide feedback to carriers and agency leadership.
- Product Knowledge: Stay informed about the products and services offered by carriers, and communicate any changes, updates, or new offerings to the agency team.
- Training & Development: Work with the agency's internal teams to ensure they are well-informed about carrier policies, products, and procedures, providing training and resources as needed.
- Reporting: Prepare and present reports on carrier relationships, performance metrics, and other key indicators to agency leadership.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in the insurance industry, preferably in a carrier liaison or similar role.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of insurance products, underwriting processes, and carrier operations.
- Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple relationships and priorities effectively.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, or a related field is preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with agency management systems.
