Producer - Trucking and Small Commercial business
Job Description
This agency focuses on transportation and trucking risks along with other small business. The Producer will drive sales growth by acquiring new business and manage relationships with customers. The Producer increases market penetration into assigned sales territory and retains and strengthens existing client relationships, this paramount for long term success. The Producer responsibilities include growing assigned territory’s, account management, ensuring profitability, retention of accounts. The ability to negotiate as well as re-visit and negotiate rates as market trends change is vital to their success.
- HOURS: Full-Time Hours, Mon-Fri, 8:00AM-5:00PM PST
- DURATION: Direct Hire
- WORKSITE: Can be remote or in-office role. If remote, must live in Western United States and work in the pacific time zone.
- PAY: $45,000 - $60,000 per year, Base + incentives, depending on experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identifies opportunities to establish new staffing agreements through market demographics and sales contacts.
- Identify new prospects through phone sales using company database, online resources and cold calling with a minimum of 40 outbound calls per day.
- Negotiate contract terms with clients.
- Review and analyze client need by discussing requirements and qualifications, exposures and risks.
- Work proactively with Account Manager to market available candidates to existing and prospective clients.
- Work at ensuring employee relations are fluid and harmonious.
- Ability to travel to visit geographic territory as needed.
- Other duties and responsibilities as needed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 3 or more years of insurance industry experience
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred
- Property & Casualty License
- Competent in use of Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Applied EPIC or Salesforce experience a plus

- Must be an excellent presenter by articulating in a positive professional manner.
- Must be confident, great communicator with the ability to communicate in English, as well as oral and written communication skills.
- This position requires skills and influence and sales driving style.
- Work well under pressure and time deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast pace environment.
- Must have a sense of urgency and ability to prioritize quickly and efficiently.
- Must be able to work well under a team environment or work independently as needed.

She oversees two divisions: SDI Staffing, which she founded in 1995, and A-Star Staffing, which was acquired in 2023. SDI Staffing specializes in placing temporary and direct hire employees in the insurance industry across California, Arizona, and Nevada. A-Star Staffing focuses on administrative, accounting, HR, and customer service roles within various industries throughout San Diego County.
Julie is a California Licensed Fire/Casualty Agent and a Certified Staffing Professional. Her professional affiliations include membership in the American Staffing Association (ASA), California Staffing Professionals, the San Diego Association of Insurance Professionals (SDAIP), and PWI San Diego. She has served in numerous roles, including President, within these organizations. Additionally, she is an active member of the Independent Agents and Brokers of both Orange County and San Diego. Notably, she was the first Associate Member on the board of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of San Diego (IIAB San Diego). Julie is also dedicated to education, teaching insurance and personal development classes to clients and industry organizations.

Before founding San Diego Insurance Temps, Inc., Julie spent over 12 years working in the insurance industry at both carrier and agency levels in Southern California and North Carolina. Her roles ranged from sales and customer service in personal and commercial lines to operations management, giving her comprehensive industry knowledge.
Julie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a minor in Economics from the University of California, San Diego. A San Diego native, she is married with two married children and enjoys crochet, camping, and reading in her spare time. During race season, she can often be found at the race track, where her son and son-in-law compete in 600 Midgets or dwarf cars.
