Job Description

Workers’ Compensation Underwriter needed for an Insurance office located in Palm Desert, CA area. REMOTE! Must reside in the United States. 
 
  • HOURS: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (35 hour work week) – Pacific time.
    • If the UW resides in Central or Eastern time zones that is perfectly acceptable. The work hours will be based on 9am to 5pm (for that time zone).
  • DURATION: Direct Hire.
  • WORKPLACE: 100% remote work will be offered. Must reside in the United States!
  • PAY:  $70k  
  • BENEFITS: Medical, Dental and Vision – 100% paid by the employer for the employee. 401-k, 10 paid holidays, PTO and Sick days.

Job duties can include, but are not limited to:
  • Underwriting small to large sized risks (premiums ranging from $5,000 - $200,000).
  • Prepare underwriting evaluations and proposed pricing for approval and send out approved quote proposals or declinations to agents.
  • Will be communicating with agents and insurance carriers regarding new business and renewal policy issuance, endorsements, inspections, and audits.

Requirements:
  • The qualified candidate must have a minimum of 2 years, recent, prior Workers’ Compensation Underwriting experience in an Underwriter role.  
  • Must possess a knowledge of basic underwriting skills, class fit, and the Workers’ Compensation classification system.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Must have clear communication skills; verbal and written.
  • Must have a high-school diploma or GED.
